Stefan Raab revels in his successful debut on RTL

"Victory in a million isn't on the cards here with Stefan Raab" is the mantra for Stefan Raab's fresh show on RTL+. Both Stefan and the streaming platform seem to be savoring their victories following the premiere. The show's format is proving to be an unmitigated triumph.

Stefan Raab's return has given RTL+ its most successful premiere ever. Although RTL hasn't released the exact figures yet, initial indications suggest that the show is a resounding success.

"73% of the subscriptions were sold to new customers, with the remaining subscriptions being from returning customers who re-joined RTL+ for Raab," RTL declared. "Raab is also making waves on social media: over 465 million engagements on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and more since Saturday's boxing event," the channel celebrated.

Exact figures on how many people watched Raab's show on RTL+ will be available in 14 days, according to AGF Videoforschung, which conducts the evaluation. Delayed measurement takes into account the fact that, unlike linear TV, streaming doesn't have fixed broadcast times and shows are often viewed over an extended period.

"It feels - in the best possible sense - as if he never left and has always been a part of the RTL family," RTL programming chief Inga Leschek said of Raab's RTL+ debut with his new show. "Exactly what I expected: Raab is back and breaking all records on Germany's largest national streaming platform, RTL+. Raab once again proved yesterday that he is an extraordinary artist."

Peak performances in the boxing match

RTL+ currently has approximately 5.6 million paying subscribers. Raab and RTL have agreed to work together for the next five years. During this period, various new formats will be developed with Raab, some of which will also be aired on RTL's regular TV program. "We share not only Raab's passion for victory, but also his uncompromising understanding of good entertainment, which Germany has been lacking, and we look forward to at least five more years of record-breaking successes for RTL Germany!" Leschek explained.

Even Raab's boxing match against Regina Halmich last Saturday delivered peak performances. Almost eight million viewers tuned in to see Raab, aged 57, take a beating from the former world champion. The market share for RTL was over 40% (14-59 years) or even near 53% (14-49 years) in the advertising-relevant target groups. With the song "Pa auf's Maul," Raab immediately climbed to the top of the charts.

Following the successful premiere of "Victory in a million isn't on the cards here with Stefan Raab," the show will return to RTL+ soon. The second episode will be uploaded next Wednesday, September 25, at 8:10 PM. Then, Raab will square off against candidate Søren once again, who impressed so much in the first episode that he still has a chance of winning €1 million.

RTL+ is delighted with the record-breaking success of Stefan Raab's show, as indicated by the high number of new subscriptions and social media engagement. As RTL programming chief Inga Leschek mentioned, Raab's RTL+ debut on RTL+ has been a triumph, garnering praise and breaking records on Germany's largest national streaming platform.

In light of RTL+ currently having approximately 5.6 million paying subscribers and Raab and RTL agreeing to work together for the next five years, it's clear that RTLplus will continue to benefit from Raab's presence, developing new formats with him for both RTL+ and RTL's regular TV program.
