South Asia experiences over 30 casualties due to cyclone.

In the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone "Remal", over 30 lives were claimed in South Asian nations Bangladesh and India. The deaths included 11 individuals who perished in a landslide at a quarry located in northeastern India, as per the "Indian Express". Additional casualties were not yet ruled out. Relief operations were still underway.

Prior to making landfall in India and Bangladesh on Monday night, masses of people in coastal regions had been relocated to safer grounds. The weather system unleashed intense rainfall, causing flooded streets, uprooted trees, and power lines, along with damage to simple residential structures - visible in televised footage.

At present, the storm has lost strength, as per weather agencies in both nations. However, schools, banks, and government offices maintained their closure on Tuesday in the impacted regions.

India and Bangladesh commonly endure storms that result in floods, damages, and power disruptions. Experts claim that the probability of more powerful storms across the globe is escalating due to climate change.
