She will be supported by Dragqueen Olivia Jones, who will report from the red carpet and also appear as a presenter, as RTL has announced.
Time, time, time! For the participants of the reality TV formats that have shot up like mushrooms from the ground in recent years, it's all about the schedule and the corresponding fee. To meet this hype, RTL is presenting "The Reality Awards" for the first time live on its streaming platform RTL+ on December 7th from Cologne.
Throughout the evening, Sophia Thomalla will lead the way, who has already made a name for herself through the moderation of the dating show "Are You The One?" and certainly knows some of the award winners and award recipients personally. When it comes to the topic of Reality-TV, the broadcaster has been at the forefront for years. Whether "Are You The One", "Temptation Island", "The Bachelor", "Ex on the Beach" or "The Summerhouse of the Stars" - the offer at RTL and RTL+ is extensive. As a result, Reality personalities such as Elena Miras, Danni Büchner, Jasmin Herren, Matthias Mangiapane, Mike Heiter, Evelyn Burdecki, Yasin Mohamed and Cosimo Citiolo have emerged.
Awards following the US model
These and many more will be awarded prizes following the US model. "Freshly in love, separated celebrities, fighting and perfectly matching stars who make us and our viewers happy, amazed and sometimes speechless," announced Inga Leschek, Program Director of RTL and RTL+ in March, adding "It's high time that their performance is deservedly celebrated and awarded."
For the distribution of the awards, the viewers are responsible, who can vote in different categories at a given time. RTL has not yet announced which categories these are. It is also still unclear who is running for the trophies.
The "Reality Awards" are set to be hosted live on RTL+'s streaming platform, marking a first for the broadcaster in recognizing entertaining performances in Reality TV.
