Söder makes a serious attempt to sing

A hymn to sing - or to sing along - that's what politicians can do. The Bavarian Minister-President shows himself unfazed in a talk show and sings a song all by himself. His answers to the moderator's questions also reveal a lot.

For the first time, Bavaria's Minister-President Markus Soeder appeared as a guest on the Hamburg late-night show "Inas Nacht". Ministers and Bundestag deputies have been guests before, but Soeder is "the first Minister-President who lets himself be checked out differently at 'Inas Nacht'", according to the NDR show's Facebook post. Clips were shown of the 57-year-old CSU politician singing, talking about his youth, and offering the "Du" to Moderator Ina Müller because he is the "optically older" one. In response to a question about which used car he would buy, Markus Soeder, according to an NDR statement, said: "I wouldn't buy one from Kubicki. I think Habeck is serious. I can't afford the Porsche Christian Lindner wants to sell."

Clips of the show were also visible on Instagram. In one of them, Ina Müller asks Soeder if he is a good lover, if he is "insanely good in bed". Soeder answers that he is "insanely early in bed". He couldn't resist reporting once again about the poster of his CSU political idol Franz Josef Strauß that once hung in his childhood and youth room - and how the likeness of the former federal minister and Bavarian Minister-President scared off the ladies so much that "none of them stayed".

The show with Soeder marks the start of a new season. In addition to Soeder, ex-ski racer and TV commentator Felix Neureuther, as well as the Italian singer Gianna Nannini as a music act, were also guests. There will be singing several times. The season has twelve episodes, for which Marianne Rosenberg, Susanne Daubner, Eva Mattes, Hape Kerkeling, Bruce Darnell, and Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim have been announced.

In the same episode, NDR highlighted that Markus Söder, the Bavarian Minister-President, offered the "Du" to moderator Ina Müller due to their age difference during their entertainment-filled talk show appearance. Later, when discussing potential used car purchases, Söder mentioned that he wouldn't buy one from Kubicki, indicating his preference for Habeck's offer, as mentioned by NDR.
