The broadcast of BVB's cup exit brought ZDF good ratings. The crime thriller "Steirerwut" was also exciting and entertaining.

Viewing figures - Soccer and thrillers lead the way

The round of 16 in the battle for the DFB Cup attracted the most viewers on Wednesday evening. The match between VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund was watched by 5.61 million viewers (22.9 percent) on ZDF from 8.45 pm. The match ended with a 2:0 defeat for the Bundesliga soccer team Borussia at VfB. Erste was close behind with the crime thriller "Steirerwut" (8.15 p.m.) and 4.89 million (18.7 percent).

RTL had the entertainment program "Mario Barth deckt auf! Alles für unsere Kinder", which attracted 1.35 million viewers (5.3 percent). The ProSieben comedy show "TV total" attracted 1.19 million (4.6 percent) viewers. The crime thriller "Wilsberg: 48 Stunden" on ZDFneo attracted 1.14 million viewers (4.3 percent).

Sat.1 aired the cooking show "The Taste", which attracted 1.08 million viewers (4.8 percent). The romantic comedy "Liebe braucht keine Ferien" on Vox attracted 1.02 million (4.2 percent). The thriller "American Gangster" attracted 600,000 viewers (2.6 percent) on Kabel eins. RTLzwei's hospital series "Mensch Retter" attracted 570,000 viewers (2.2 percent).
