Slash announces the death of his stepdaughter
Slash Mourns His Stepdaughter. Lucy-Bleu Knight Was Only 25 Years Old.
Lucy-Bleu Knight, stepdaughter of Slash, is dead. The former Guns N' Roses guitarist announced this on his Instagram account. According to him, the 25-year-old daughter of his partner Meegan Hodges had already passed away on July 19th. Slash remains silent about the cause of death of the young woman. The statement reads only that she "passed away peacefully."
"Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist," it continues. Furthermore, he describes the deceased as "a passionate dreamer and charming, lovable, and delicate soul." As can be seen on her Instagram account, she was active as a painter and tattoo artist. The family asks for privacy and requests that "speculations in social media be kept to a minimum" while they grieve.
On the Instagram page of the deceased, her last post is currently causing a stir. This was posted on this Monday morning (MESZ), three days after her death. "If I have given you the feeling that you were excluded, manipulated/controlled, if I told you to quit your job because I have the luxury of being financially supported by my parents, or if I drowned real problems in toxic positivity- I'm sorry," she wrote in a selfie of the 25-year-old. "Countless missed opportunities and possibilities because of a huge ego, an insecure heart, and the fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to develop from my poorly rewarded role, Lucy-Bleu. Peace."
Many are wondering in the comments if it was a post planned in advance by Lucy-Bleu - and thus possibly a farewell letter - or if someone else had access to her account. The cause of death is also being speculated upon in light of the cryptic message, which reveals so much vulnerability.
Slash Cancels Tour Dates
Just a few hours before he announced the news of his stepdaughter's death, Slash had announced via Instagram the cancellation of several tour dates for his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Tour in North America. "Due to unforeseen circumstances," the rockstar must cancel four shows. The gigs were scheduled for July 22nd, 24th, 25th, and 27th. Slash is scheduled to be back on stage in Toronto on July 28th.
Meegan Hodges, mother of Lucy-Bleu Knight, met Slash at the end of the 1980s, during the height of his career with Guns N' Roses. After a break, the couple reunited in 2015.
