Sky du Mont wants to be free of age

He will not be a burden later on. That's why actor Sky du Mont is prepared and has already secured a spot in a nursing home. The fact that he's planning ahead at 77 also has to do with his mother.

Sky du Mont may only be 77 years old, but he's already meticulously planning his end. Two years ago, the actor and voice artist revealed in an RTL interview that he had already prepared his funeral down to the playlist. "After my mother passed away and left a mess, I want to spare my children that," he explained at the time, why he's dealing with death despite being in good health.

For the same reason, the 77-year-old has also thought about his living situation in old age. If he ever needs care, he doesn't want to burden his three children, especially his 30 years younger partner Julia Schütze, as "Revue Heute" has now revealed. "For me, it's clear: If I ever need care, I won't impose it on my partner," du Mont said in the interview. That's why he's already found a place in a nursing home and is currently sorting everything out.

He doesn't want to end up like his mother

Du Mont has wanted to live in a senior home for a long time, as he explained in an interview with the "Bild" newspaper. "My acting teacher, who was like a mother to me, I often visited in the old people's home, and that was very nice. She had her own two rooms, and if something was wrong, she could press a button and a caregiver would come to help." His mother Chiquita Neven du Mont, who died in 2018 at the age of 97, unfortunately didn't prepare as well. Apart from the "mess" she left him, her last years were not pleasant, not just for health reasons.

"I wish I wouldn't get that old. All her friends were already dead," du Mont told the "Bild" newspaper.

Sky du Mont expresses his desire to avoid the challenges his mother faced in her old age. He mentions, "I wish I wouldn't get that old. All her friends were already dead." Additionally, the sentiment is reflected in his decision to secure a spot in a nursing home before needing care, to ensure he won't end up like his mother.
