Sister foresaw Aaron Carter's death

In November 2022, Aaron Carter passed away due to a drug overdose. For his twin sister Angel, her brother's death was not entirely unexpected. In an episode of the podcast "Squeeze," she spoke about her brother and his addiction, and how he once made her obtain a restraining order.

On November 5, 2022, the life of Aaron Carter ended tragically. His lifeless body was discovered by the housekeeper in his bathtub, and it became clear that the brother of Backstreet Boys-star Nick Carter had died at the young age of 34 from a drug overdose. For Angel Carter, however, this drama came as no real surprise. In this podcast episode, she spoke about her brother and his condition before the tragedy. She had spent years preparing herself for his death.

Since the age of twelve, her brother had been battling his addiction. Angel Carter also lost her sisters Leslie and Bobbie Jean due to overdoses. However, her brother's death was different: "What's interesting about Leslie's death is that she died when I was 23: Her death came as a complete surprise to me." She hadn't seen it coming. "When she died, I was already in therapy, preparing myself for Aaron's death," Angel Carter recalled. She had long thought that he would die and had been afraid for a long time: "I knew that day was coming, and I believe he did too."

Carter was bipolar and schizophrenic

She had tried for a long time to help her brother with his addiction, as he couldn't free himself from it alone. Aaron Carter rejected her support often. In particular, she recalled in the podcast interview the summer of 2019, when her brother's struggle with his demons intensified, and he suffered a psychosis - accompanied by the diagnosis of a bipolar and schizophrenic disorder. During this time, he talked about killing people and even babies in front of her, and suddenly organized weapons for himself.

Therefore, his newly pregnant mother, along with her brother Nick Carter, obtained a restraining order against Aaron, preventing him from coming nearer - out of fear. This legal proceeding led, in turn, to the seizure of Aaron Carter's weapons: "I had to protect him from himself," Angel Carter explained in the podcast, tears in her eyes.

The cause of the downward spiral, she sees, in her brother's environment, as he became a child star at the age of nine. Back then, she felt, people around him had only exploited and used him. "I couldn't save him," Angel added, "it was not within my power to save him, but I tried."

Troubled by both drug addiction and mental health issues, Aaron Carter's death in November 2022 was a sobering reminder of the battles he had been fighting for years. His sister, Angel Carter, had long feared this moment, having lost both her sisters Leslie and Bobbie Jean to overdoses previously. In the tragic episode of the podcast "Squeeze," she shared her brother's struggle with addiction, psychosis, and bipolar and schizophrenic disorder, as well as her efforts to help him. When his condition worsened during the summer of 2019, leading to violent outbursts and placing others in danger, a restraining order was necessary to ensure the safety of those around, ultimately resulting in the seizure of his weapons.
