Justin Timberlake (43) joked about his arrest for alleged drunk driving at his Boston concert on June 29th at TD Garden. "Is there anyone here who drives a car and... no, that was just a joke", he loudly quipped, according to "People" magazine. On June 18th, the singer was arrested by US police in the Hamptons, New York, for driving in a snake line formation in his BMW and disregarding a stop sign.

Timberlake's joke reportedly caused loud laughter from the 20,000 attendees in Boston. Afterward, the artist, who is currently on his "Forget Tomorrow" world tour, asked his audience who had attended his shows multiple times. "For all those who are here for the first time tonight, I hope you feel the community and the love", he continued.

Court date on July 26

Justin Timberlake seems to be taking the recent negative headlines about him in stride. However, a court hearing regarding the alleged alcohol-related driving incident looms: His case is scheduled to be heard on July 26th. The popstar is expected to miss the proceedings in person due to his tour schedule - on the same day, he is set to perform in Krakow, Poland.

Instead, he will be represented by his attorney Edward Burke Jr. In a statement, Burke expressed his eagerness to "vigorously defend Mr. Timberlake against these allegations." He promised "to have a lot to say at the appropriate time."

Already at his first concert following the arrest on June 21st in Chicago, Timberlake addressed his DUI. "It's been a tough week. I know it's sometimes hard to love me, but you all do, and I love you back", he told his fans, according to "People."
