Cher Pop-Icon - Singer delivers memoirs in two parts
US-Singer and Actress Cher (78) will look back on the key moments in her life in her memoirs, announced the responsible publisher Dey Street Books. The exceptional life of Cher can only be told by Cher herself, teased the publisher and revealed the book cover with an old black-and-white image of Cher and the publication date on Instagram. "Cher: The Memoir, Part One" will be released on November 19, with "Cher: The Memoir, Part Two" following in 2025. The book will show Cher as "the daughter, the sister, the wife, the lover, the mother, and the superstar," according to "People" in the book announcement. "It's a life that's too extensive for a single book."
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the content continues: "After more than seventy years of fighting for a self-determined life, Cher finally reveals her true story in intimate details in a two-part memoir." With Cher's "signature honesty and humor," the book will describe in detail "how this diamond in the rough managed to become the trailblazing superstar the world has known for more than half a century, without a plan and with little self-confidence."
The first part will focus on "her extraordinary beginnings, from childhood to the meeting and marriage with Sonny Bono." It will reveal "the most complicated relationship that made her world-famous but eventually drove her apart." Cher founded the duo Sonny and Cher with musician Sonny Bono (1935-1998) and was married to him from 1964 to 1975.
Cher had already hinted at writing her memoirs in 2017. Last year, she mentioned in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter that she was almost finished with her work.
