"The Advent festival of 100,000 lights" - Silbereisen thanks the "Sparrow of Avignon"

For the 20th time now, presenter and musician Florian Silbereisen (42) hosted his"Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights" on Saturday evening (December 2). In addition to German stars such as Barbara Schöneberger (49), Thomas Anders (60), Andrea Berg (57) and Roland Kaiser (71), the French world star Mireille Mathieu (77) was also present, to whom Silbereisen felt a special debt of gratitude.

Mathieu had always stood by him, virtually from the first day of his TV career, as the presenter explained emotionally: "She has been my lucky charm since my first Saturday night show. When many people didn't believe in me, she supported me." To thank her, Silbereisen not only got out his accordion, but also performed the Christmas classic "Heidschi Bumbeidschi" in a duet with his lucky charm, the "Sparrow of Avignon".

There was also a declaration of love after the performance by pop queen Michelle (51) with her new and much younger partner Eric Philippi (26): "We've had a lot of headwind for our love in the last six months," said Michelle. "We wanted to make a statement that it doesn't matter who you love, what you love, how you are or how you're not. But that everything is right and that there is simply no wrong."

Dresses, candles and the chancellor

A small mishap occurred right at the beginning of the show. For the occasion, Barbara Schöneberger had wrapped herself in a pompous red dress. But it apparently only lasted a few minutes: "I pulled the skirt over it because it tore underneath." As proof, the presenter briefly lifted the dress and later preferred to keep her apron on while baking for Christmas.

Designer Guido Maria Kretschmer (58), who read out the Christmas story "Die einsame Spitze" ("The Lonely Top"), also almost got fiery. He did so in the contemplative light of a real candle, which he came alarmingly close to in the subsequent conversation with Silbereisen. "Careful, don't light your suit on fire," said the presenter in time to prevent a second clothing mishap.

Although German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (65) hasn't been wearing an eye patch for half an eternity, Andy Borg (63) still received a "special edition" of the Chancellor as a guest gift. As a passionate fan of incense smokers, Silbereisen presented him with the "Olaf with eye patch" for his collection, which is said to already include over 200 pieces.
