Sibling bowlers fret about their upcoming prospects

In 2022, an unusual incident occurred on the Spanish island of Mallorca that drastically changed the lives of 13 amateur bowlers from Germany. Two years after a mysterious fire at a pub, they are still under suspicion of being responsible for this crime. The case remains unsolved, leaving them anxious for their future.

The infamous fire ignited at the Ballermann in Playa de Palma, and for two years now, these 13 German bowlers have been at risk of facing severe charges. In a statement released by their legal representatives, they described how "it's been going on for two years now, which is a very long time if it's happening to you directly." The situation significantly affected their lives, with constant exposure to new information and developments.

Known as the Skittles brothers, the 13 vacationers found themselves under the radar after the fire at the "Why not Mallorca" restaurant. Authorities believe they tossed burning cigarettes and booze from the higher level of their hotel onto the roof of the pub's terrace. Adjoining buildings such as a brothel, a private apartment, and some parts of the hotel were also damaged in the blaze.

Although the restaurant was destroyed, the possibility of arson soon emerged, leading to the subsequent suspicion of the Skittles brothers from Münsterland. Despite this, the members remain adamant about their innocence. During the proceedings, one individual was immediately cleared of any charges, while four others managed to post bail after roughly two and a half weeks.

The remaining eight, however, spent about two months in custody before they were able to return home. Currently, the situation regarding their release remains unclear, but the group expressed their anticipation for more investigations. With the help of their Spanish legal counsel, they have devised some potential exonerating evidence, which has been sent to the court.

"We expect these clearing motions to be thoroughly analyzed in the course of the proceedings and help in contributing to more procedural clarification," the statement expressed. Ever since their return to Germany, they've been prudent in sharing their experiences publicly.
