Cardi B (31) is at a crossroads. A spokesperson for the rapper confirms that she has filed for divorce from her husband Offset (32), who is also a rapper. She also announced that she is expecting another child.

Rumors of affairs not the cause of divorce

The 31-year-old filed for divorce on July 31 after more than six years of marriage, multiple U.S. media outlets report. A spokesperson for Cardi B confirmed this step to the U.S. magazine "People". The decision to file now is not based on previous affair rumors, but has been discussed for some time. A divorce was even discussed several years ago, but was later called off.

Cardi B and Offset got married in 2017 and have two children together - a six-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son. It was revealed last December that Cardi B and Offset had separated. In a social media livestream, she announced that she was single and was curious about a new life and a fresh start.

Soon after it was revealed that Cardi B wants a divorce again, she shared some happy news on Instagram. With pictures of her baby bump and a few lines, she announced that she is expecting her third child. "With every end comes a new beginning," writes Cardi B. Addressing her unborn baby directly, she explains how much love and life the pregnancy has given her. The child has given her new strength and shown her "that I can have it all. [...] You, your brother, and your sister have shown me why it's worth it to keep going!" The father's identity is not known.

Despite the divorce filings, Cardi B mentioned in her Instagram post that every end brings a new beginning, implying the offset of old challenges and the start of new opportunities. In her quest for personal growth and a fresh start, Cardi B will navigate this new chapter without disclosing the identity of the father of her third child.
