The American actress and "The Shining" star Shelley Duvall is dead. Duvall passed away at the age of 75, according to US magazines "Variety" and "The Hollywood Reporter," citing her long-term husband Dan Gilroy as their source. Gilroy stated that Duvall passed away in her sleep due to complications from a diabetes condition in her home in the US state of Texas.

"My beloved, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend has left us. In recent times, she suffered too much, now she is free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley," Gilroy shared with "The Hollywood Reporter."

Worldwide, Duvall became known in 1980 with her role in the horror film "The Shining" by director Stanley Kubrick. In this film, she escaped Jack Nicholson's axe in a scene that remains etched in the memory of many viewers. According to "Variety," the spindly woman with the big, dark eyes was awarded best actress for her role in "3 Women" at the Cannes Film Festival.

Shelley Duvall, famously known for her role in the psychological thriller "The Shining," hails from the United States of America. Despite her success in the movie industry, especially for her chilling performance in "The Shining," she will be remembered not only for her acting skills but also for her struggles with diabetes, which sadly led to her passing in her home in Texas.
