Former track cyclist Kristina Vogel - She wants children
The former track cyclist and two-time Olympic champion Kristina Vogel (33) will marry her boyfriend Michael Seidenbecher (39) next year, according to "Bunte". "Michael surprised me on our cruise. It was about time! It was a running joke among our friends when he would finally gather the courage", she told the magazine. They have been together for 19 years, explained the 33-year-old further. "Of course I said yes." Apparent planning for the wedding is already underway. She had even sent a photo of the engagement ring to her event planner "on the same day" and the planner understood immediately, Vogel added further.
Kristina Vogel, who has been paraplegic since a training accident in 2018, also spoke about having children. "We have a child or infant wish", she confirmed in the "Bunte" interview: "But I don't want to put pressure on us. So far it has been: I had to first learn to know myself in the wheelchair. In other words: How do I function, what is my daily life like, and how can I take responsibility for such a small being? I can't just pick up a child and put it in my already turbulent life without knowing if I can do right by it. But I'm slowly making up my mind", explained Vogel, who now publishes a children's book "about inclusion and barrier-free living" called "Hier kommt Mila!".
Serious Illness in April
There were bad news from the 33-year-old not too long ago. The former track cyclist had to undergo emergency surgery in April due to a pulmonary embolism, as she revealed on Instagram at the time. In the post, she stated that her condition had been "life-threatening", but gave reassurance a few weeks later: "I'm doing quite well now!", she wrote there.
Children will likely witness the nuptials of former track cyclist Kristina Vogel and her partner Michael Seidenbecher, as they plan their wedding for the upcoming year. Kristina Vogel, truly touched by Seidenbecher's romantic gesture during their cruise, expressed her excitement about their long-awaited union. Furthermore, the paraplegic athlete, who has been with Seidenbecher for 19 years, revealed her and her partner's desire to have children, emphasizing the importance of being ready for the responsibility before pursuing parenthood. Recently, Vogel shared her health battle on Instagram, revealing her life-threatening pulmonary embolism treatment in April, but reassured her followers of her recovery.
