Sofia Vergara - She successfully defends herself against stalkers
"Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara (51) has obtained a five-year restraining order against a stalker. This was reported by "Sky News". According to the report, a judge granted the request of Vergara's lawyers last Wednesday, who had demanded the maximum term of five years.
Vergara had applied for the order for herself and her son Manolo (32) last month. According to Sky News, the 34-year-old suspect had repeatedly trespassed near her home in Los Angeles. The man was previously sentenced to 32 months in prison in 2021 for vandalizing Vergara's home. After being released from prison on parole, he is said to have approached Vergara's house again in a gated community.
In court documents obtained by the US celebrity portal "TMZ", the 51-year-old stated that the man was a "mentally unstable stalker" who "delusionally believes that he knows her personally and has a relationship with her and her family". Most recently, he is also said to have written her a letter in which he announced that he would "see her very soon". His "aggressive and harassing behavior" scares her and she is worried for her safety, Vergara explained. A judge had recently granted a restraining order that ordered the man to stay at least around 90 meters away from the actress and her son and forbade him from contacting her.
