Paris Hilton - She speaks at the Capitol about abuse

Paris Hilton (43) continues her advocacy against child abuse. On Wednesday (26th June), the heiress spoke before a US House Committee at the Capitol in Washington D.C. and shared her harrowing experiences in a boarding school. The hearing focused on the well-being of children in the US foster care system and other juvenile facilities.

Paris Hilton's Testimony

"When I was 16 years old, I was taken from my bed in the middle of the night and transported across state lines to the first of four residential facilities", Hilton told the House Ways and Means Committee.

"For two years, I was force-fed with medications and sexually abused by the staff. I was brutally restrained, stripped naked, and placed in solitary confinement", she continued. Furthermore, she stated that her parents had been "completely manipulated" by the institutions and were unaware of her treatment.

Hilton advocated for comprehensive reforms of the system and demanded improvements in standards for children in the foster care system. "I know from personal experience the damage that institutionalization for children can cause", she said. "These programs promise healing, growth, and support, but instead, I was denied the ability to speak, move freely, or even look out the window for two years." She wished to be a voice for children whose voices are not heard, as Hilton was dressed in a glamorous baby blue satin blouse with a white collar during the hearing.
