Lena Meyer-Landrut - She must cancel the concert again

Three weeks ago, Lena Meyer-Landrut (33) had to cancel two performances in Munich and Wangen at short notice due to health reasons. On Sunday evening (21. July), the singer could not perform on stage at the Ansbach Open on the campus of the university, and cancelled her concert only a few hours before it began. Her fans are worried.

On the Instagram page of the event, it was announced late on Sunday afternoon: "Due to a medical emergency, Lena cannot appear at our Ansbach event tonight." In a story from the singer's team, it was written that the incident had been "unexpected". "She is receiving medical treatment." Furthermore, the "Team Lena" informed the fans: "We hope for your understanding in this situation. It breaks Lena's heart that she cannot perform."

Medical emergency during travel

Wolfgang Bartusch, chairman of the Ansbacher Kammerspiele, explained to the "Fränkische Landeszeitung" that the medical emergency occurred during the singer's journey and she was taken to a hospital. Even her band and the stage crew, who had already begun soundchecking in Ansbach, were surprised by the cancellation. Originally, Lena Meyer-Landrut was supposed to give the finale of the festival, a double concert with Leony (27). Her colleague then gave a "prolonged solo show" instead.

As the "Fränkische Landeszeitung" further reported, the date in Ansbach had a special meaning for Lena Meyer-Landrut. In 2019, she was honored by the local university for her fight against cyberbullying and hate comments on Social Media with the Education Prize. On Social Media, many fans expressed concern and wished the Eurovision Song Contest winner of 2010 a quick recovery. At the end of June, the 33-year-old had already been suffering from health problems. "I didn't feel good all day and then I got painful cramps in my stomach and kidneys just before the show start and had to be taken to a clinic," she explained after her cancellation at the Tollwood Festival in Munich.

Concerts scheduled until the end of July

Recently, fans had hoped that she would recover. On Friday, she appeared for the first time again in Plauen, but did not seem completely fit. She herself said during the concert, according to RTL, "I have the feeling that I'm not yet at 100%. I would say I'm at 70%." The next day, she sang in Wolfsburg. Now, another setback followed. The status of her next concerts in Regensburg (22. July), Stuttgart (26. July), and Echternach (27. July) is still unknown.
