Queen Camilla - She is set to become a podcast star

Queen Camilla (76) now apparently has her own podcast, as can be read on the Instagram page of her book club. The British Daily Mail, among others, also reports that there will be a weekly audio version of Camilla's "The Queen's Reading Room". The wife of King Charles III (75) will therefore be heard in person on the podcast, which is due to start on January 8.

Queen Camilla is a huge fan of books and has long used her role as a member of the royal family to promote reading. During the coronavirus pandemic, she shared book tips. This gave rise to her Instagram book club, which has 167,000 followers. It has since become a charity with its own annual literary festival at Hampton Court Palace.

According tothe Daily Mail, the Queen will now also be talking about books in a podcast. According to the report, Camilla will host the show alongside a number of star guests, including actress Dame Joanna Lumley (77), writer Sir Ian Rankin (63), author David Baddiel (59), author Elif Shafak (52) and TV star Susie Dent (59).

Vicki Perrin, who co-runs Queen's Reading Room, said according to the Daily Mail: "There's nothing better than a brilliant book recommendation from a friend; but it's even better when that person is one of your favorite or most admired authors." It continues: "I hope this podcast will inspire listeners to new literary adventures and help those who want to love books just that little bit more to find the books that fire their imagination."

King Charles' daughter-in-law, Duchess Meghan (42), also recently had her own podcast. However, her Spotify show "Archetypes" was discontinued after just one season and the Sussexes' contract was terminated.
