Pink - She defends herself against age discrimination
"Pink has gotten old": Singer Pink (44) has responded to this sentence from a Twitter user and made it clear that she is not offended by her age. On the contrary, she is "grateful" to be getting older.
Getting older as a blessing
A few days ago, the singer announced that she would be extending her "Summer Carnival" tour and performing 17 more shows across North America next summer and fall. On stage, the mother of two also likes to show herself in skimpy outfits - just like many pop stars.
The fact that a Twitter user commented disparagingly on her appearance after the tour news was not something she was prepared to let stand. "Yes, although I don't feel old and still get to wear leotards at work, getting older is actually my first 'gratitude' every day," she replied on X (formerly Twitter), referring to the skin-tight bodysuits in which she performs aerial acrobatics for her fans. The singer continued: "What a blessing to have years. To be so strong, to be able to still upset complete strangers just by existing."
Back in 2018, she defended herself against an age comment
It's not the first time the "Trustfall" singer has taken social media haters to task. In 2018, someone tweeted that Pink looked "so old she should be called Purple instead".
At the time, she responded by saying, "You must be from LA. Well, there are still a few people in the world who choose to age naturally." She also said she had earned "every damn minute" of her years. "But what do you look like?" she asked, "Because I've never heard of you until you put my name in your mouth. I'm gonna call you little purple troll."
She then made it clear in another tweet, "I'm of the opinion that getting old is a blessing - if your face has wrinkles around your eyes and mouth, it means you've laughed a lot." She prays to look older in ten years, "because that means I'm alive", Pink said.
