Billie Eilish - She defends herself after allegedly coming out
Singer Billie Eilish (21) has accused the US entertainment magazine "Variety" of having outed her. In the interview she is referring to, which was published on November 13, the "Bad Guy" singer hinted that she was attracted to women. She told the magazine, "I never really felt like I could have a good relationship with girls. I love them so much. I love them as people. I'm attracted to them as people. I'm really attracted to them."
In another "Variety" interview on the red carpet last Saturday, the artist was then asked explicitly about her sexual orientation. Eilish replied, "I didn't realize people didn't know that. Why can't we just be? I've been doing this for a very long time and I just haven't talked about it."
Billie Eilish: "Thank you for coming out to me"
But Billie Eilish obviously doesn't really like the public discussion of her sexuality. In an Instagram post on Sunday , the 21-year-old singer, who does not believe in the concept of "coming out", expressed her frustration.
"Thank you 'Variety' for my award and also for outing me on a red carpet at 11am instead of talking about anything else that matters - I like boys and girls - leave me alone with this, please really, who cares?" the post read, which she illustrated with a pair of dropped pants and a belt with two women as a buckle, among other things.
At the "Variety" ceremony, Eilish and her brother Finneas accepted the award for Movie Song of the Year for "What Was I Made For" from "Barbie".
