A gentleman in Worms destroyed a police car and two other cars with a wooden stick, shattering some of their windshields. The assailant was detained on Saturday morning, as per law enforcement authorities. Police officers report that they pointed a firearm at the suspect.
The event was sparked by the man being refused entry to a bar, according to "Bild" newspaper. He then approached a passing car with the wooden plank and shattered its glass before proceeding to smash the windshield of a parked car. When police officers arrived with two cruisers, he confronted them with the wooden stick, refusing to put it down.
Bystanders assisted the police in restraining the man against a house wall, as seen in the video footage from X. The police used a taser to subdue the man.
The reason for the car attacks is still unknown. The 30-year-old now faces multiple criminal charges and liability claims, and he remained in police custody for the remainder of Saturday. However, there were insufficient grounds for detention, causing the man's release as per the public prosecutor's office.
