Selenskyj bestows the Order of Merit upon Baerbock.

Currently in Ukraine, Foreign Minister Baerbock receives a medal for her backing of the nation. Her recipient is Ukrainian President Selenskyj. This isn't the first time a German politician receives this honor.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi bestowed Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock with the Order of Merit for her assistance to his country. He gave her the third level of the Order of Yaroslav the Wise during their meeting in the presidential office located in the capital Kiev.

Selenskyj had previously granted Baerbock this award via decree at the beginning of the year. Alongside other prominent Bundestag members - Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann and Anton Hofreiter - were also presented with the Ukrainian Order of Merit's third level.

At the start of the year, Selenskyj honored the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, and the Albanian leader Edi Rama with the Order of Yaroslav's top degree. This recognition is named after Yaroslav the Wise, a leader of the medieval empire of Kievan Rus from 1019-1054.
