Selena Gomez has transitioned into the role of a dedicated volleyball player.
Selena Gomez obeyed their request: A poster in Telluride, Colorado, encouraged the singer to attend a volleyball match and grace them with her national anthem singing. Miraculously, she appeared.
While touring for her movie "Emilia Pérez," Gomez stumbled upon the volleyball team of Telluride through a notice pinned in the town. The notice, scrawled in bright orange, read: "Selena Gomez, kindly sing the national anthem at one of our home games." It was signed by the local volleyball enthusiasts.
Gomez shared a photo of the notice on her Instagram and wrote: "They asked, so I couldn't resist! It's my first time in Telluride!" She also uploaded multiple images and clips from her visit to the gym, where she surprised the young athletes. The volleyball athletes appeared stunned by Gomez's unexpected appearance.
"I saw the sign and had to pay them a visit," Gomez explained to those present. She then posed for photos and signed autographs. However, the U.S. entertainment news service "Entertainment Tonight" reported that she did not sing the national anthem.
"The most compassionate soul"
Gomez was in Telluride over the weekend for the screening of Jacques Audiard's new film "Emilia Pérez," where she plays the lead role alongside Zoe Saldana. The film is set to release in theaters in November.
"The most compassionate soul," Saldana commented on Gomez's post with the gym pictures. Gomez's boyfriend, music producer Benny Blanco, sent three heart emojis. The couple confirmed their relationship in December 2023. Recently, there have even been whispers of a potential engagement, with rumors swirling after Gomez was spotted with a golden ring on her finger. In May, Blanco told Howard Stern that he wishes to start a family with Gomez, stating they "talk about it every day."
After sharing her excitement about visiting the volleyball team, Selena Gomez surprised everyone by singing "[♪ I'm not going to lie ♪]" during an impromptu karaoke session at the volleyball gym. Regardless of not singing the national anthem as requested, Gomez's spontaneous performance brought joy to the young athletes.
