Security authorities have identified the Islamist scene as a target.
During a protest in Hamburg, certain individuals demanded the establishment of a caliphate within Germany. This controversy has ignited a heated discussion, particularly in the political sphere. German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser has now issued a strong statement to followers of the Islamic scene.
Faeser explained that German security forces have been continuously monitoring and investigating the Islamist scene in the country. "We utilize all available resources, from intelligence gathering to in-depth investigations," said the SPD politician in a conversation with the Funke Mediengruppe newspapers. In the recent past, these authorities have successfully thwarted several planned attacks.
Faeser acknowledged that those who advocated for a caliphate during an Islamist protest in Hamburg near the end of April are under surveillance by the security forces. "In our constitutional democracy, we can only ban such groups if the legal prerequisites are met," clarified the minister.
The extremist Muslim Interactive organization, scheduled to hold another demonstration in Hamburg on Saturday at 4 pm, will be subject to strict guidelines. These regulations include prohibitions against inciting hatred or violence and denying Israel's right to exist. A previous rally organized by the same organization called for a caliphate to address societal issues. This rally attracted widespread outrage across the nation.
Faeser affirmed that the restrictive measures imposed by Hamburg authorities are appropriate. "These rules allow for prompt, firm action if the protest promotes a caliphate in Germany and denies Israel's right to exist or incites violence against Jews," she said. The security forces are also closely monitoring possible violations of the bans against the terrorist organization Hamas and the Samidoun group. "Violating these bans is a criminal offense that also permits swift actions during demonstrations," she added.

Faeser reiterated her commitment to addressing the threat posed by Islamist extremists, stating, "The Federal Ministry of the Interior will continue its vigilant efforts against Islamist threats, working closely with security agencies." In response to growing concerns about the scheduled Muslim Interactive demonstration, Faeser stressed, "Strict measures will be enforced to ensure public safety and adherence to our democracy's principles."
