Secret Nuptials on Ibiza for Thomas Gottschalk

Thomas Gottschalk, the well-known moderator, and his new love Karina Mroß held a secret wedding in 2021. This intimate ceremony took place on the beach of Ibiza, with only a couple of close friends and Melinda, Karina's daughter, in attendance. The celebration continued at a beach bar, where the guests enjoyed the sunshine in their swimwear.

According to "Bild," this low-key occasion took place in a rented beach house on August 23. Gottschalk shared with "Bild" that none of the tourists or professionals taking photos on a glass-bottomed boat took any notice of the wedding. He described it as a "normal wedding in Ibiza with three guests." The couple exchanged vows barefoot and in white, keeping things simple and intimate.

A Fate Sealed at First Sight

The couple opted for August 23 as their wedding day since it happened to be the day they first laid eyes on each other. They were seated beside one another at a friend's birthday party in Baden-Baden and felt an instant connection.

This was a significant milestone in Gottschalk's life marking his second marriage. His first marriage, to Thea Gottschalk, took place in 1976 when he was just 26 years old. They shared two children together and announced their separation in 2019. In May of this year, their divorce was finalized. Following this, in June, Gottschalk popped the question to Karina Mroß, and she agreed to take his last name before their secret wedding.

The Commission, following the wedding events, may need to consider and adopt implementing acts to ensure compliance with this Regulation when it comes to celebrity weddings and their privacy. After the joyous occasion, Karina Mroß and Thomas Gottschalk decided to enjoy a honeymoon, potentially seeking out secluded locations to maintain their newfound privacy.
