"Bridgerton" - Season 3 coming in spring 2024
Six months after the release of the first images: The start date for the third season of "Bridgerton" has finally been set. The series will enter its third round on Netflix on May 16, 2024. The streaming service announced this via Instagram.
In contrast to the first two seasons, there is a new feature for the next round. Netflix is making Season 3 available in two parts for the first time. While the first four episodes will start on May 16, the remaining four episodes will follow on June 13, 2024.
Netflix has already launched several of its most prestigious formats in two parts, for example "Stranger Things", "The Witcher" and currently "The Crown".
"Bridgerton": This is what happens in season 3
In the third season of "Bridgerton", two characters take center stage: Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, 30) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, 36). Penelope initially wants to give Colin up and find a suitable husband. Colin, who has no idea of Penelope's love for him, wants to help her.
Meanwhile, Penelope's friendship with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie, 34) threatens to break down after she learns that Penelope is the mysterious gossip queen Lady Whistledown.
Novel 4 is the inspiration for Season 3
In order to focus on Colin and Penelope, "Bridgerton" deviates from the chronology of the original book in the third season. The upcoming season is based on the fourth volume of the "Bridgerton" series by Julia Quinn (53).
"I really feel that now is the time for Colin and Penelope. Because we've seen these two actors on our screens since season one, we've already invested a little bit in them," new showrunner Jess Brownell told Variety some time ago. There were moments in season two when Colin almost realized that Penelope had feelings for him, she said. "Instead of leaving that dynamic in place, we wanted to build on it in her season," Brownell said.
