Taylor Swift - Screeching support for US-athletes
In the lead-up to the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, persistent rumors circulated that US superstar Taylor Swift (34) could perform at the opening ceremonies. With her "The Eras Tour" currently underway in Europe, a performance at the Paris Eiffel Tower would have certainly fit into her tight schedule. In the end, the honors went to her renowned colleagues Lady Gaga (38) and Céline Dion (56), who opened the world's largest sporting event with a stage performance.
According to the magazine "People", the singer is planning to contribute to the success of the Olympics with her distinctive voice - not before a large audience, but before a television screen in her hotel room. The report states that Swift reacted with great excitement to the fact that the US network NBC used her song "Ready for it?" from her 2017 album "Reputation" as a central part of an Olympic promotional video.
"I'm so ready to scream at my TV"
Swift shared the NBC clip on Instagram and her Facebook page after its first broadcast with the words: "I'm so ready to scream at my TV and cheer on these athletes."
Swift's affinity for both music and sports is evident not only from her current relationship with American football player Travis Kelce (34). In an interview with Time Magazine, Swift revealed that she sang her entire (approximately three-hour) setlist on a treadmill every day in preparation for her tour. She said: "I wanted it to be in my bones. I wanted to be so trained that I could perform without losing focus with the fans."
Despite missing out on performing at the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, Taylor Swift remains deeply engaged with the event. Her song "Ready for it?" is prominently featured in an NBC promotional video for the Olympics. Paris, being a city in Europe, is the host city for the upcoming Olympic Games. Interestingly, Céline Dion and Lady Gaga, both renowned artists, opened the Olympic Games with a spectacular stage performance, much like the Eiffel Tower, a famous landmark in Paris. Swift's love for sports is also evident in her everyday routine, as she revealed in an interview with Time Magazine that she used to sing her entire setlist on a treadmill to prepare for her tour.
