Scooter Braun resigns from his management position.

Music impresario Scooter Braun, who's been in the entertainment industry for over two decades, has managed A-list artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, David Guetta, Demi Lovato, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Psy. Yet, at 42, he's hanging up his manager hat. Despite retiring, his proteges can still count on him in the future.

Braun made a mark as a music manager during the past two decades. With stars like Bieber, Grande, Guetta, Lovato, Jepsen, and Psy under his wing, his name became synonymous with success. Now, it's confirmed - he's calling it quits. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, he reminisces about his journey that began when he was just 19, managing an artist named Cato in Atlanta.

"23 years as a music manager," Braun pens on Instagram, "and my journey began." He recounts a life full of unforeseen experiences, likening it to that of "Forrest Gump." After 23 years, he declares that "this chapter as a music manager has now come to an end."

For two decades, Braun dedicated his grown-up life to managing talent, 24/7, 365 days a year. But as his children matured and he faced personal setbacks, he realized the importance of his role as a father. The sacrifices he once made no longer seemed justifiable. Moving forward, he will be at the helm of Hybe America as CEO. Being a dad takes precedence now, followed by his roles as CEO and music manager - the latter will no longer exist.

"Keep the love alive"

Though he's stepping down as a talent manager, he intends to continue supporting his former clients and artists: "For those I've worked with over the years, I hold only love in my heart. As we transition into a new working dynamic, I'll always be there for them, whether close at hand or from afar." He addresses many of his stars in this post. "Watching them grow into the legends they are today has been one of my greatest honors," he writes, for instance, about Bieber and Grande, with whom he's been associated since their early days.

Braun's fame extended beyond the music industry due to a disagreement with Taylor Swift over her music. In 2019, Braun's holding company acquired Big Machine Records - and thus the rights to Swift's albums - for over $300 million. The deal was made without Swift's knowledge, as she stated at the time. The saga ended with Swift choosing to re-record her first six albums.
