"I didn't reject it; I just didn't land the part. I lost yet again; it seems to be a pattern for me." In the past, they've joked about her never winning a role together.
Ronan recalls auditioning for Luna Lovegood's role in the "Harry Potter" series. "There are parts you turn down, and then they become hits, and you think, 'I should have done that,'" she explains. "But the one that's always haunted me is 'Harry Potter.' I didn't say no; they just didn't give it to me. I went up for it, and a lot of Irish actors did. When I found out I wasn't getting it, I knew it wasn't going to be mine because I was too young." Despite knowing her chances were slim, reading the scene for "Harry Potter" was still a thrilling experience for her.
