Sabrina Ilski assumes the hosting position for "Punkt 12."

More recently, it's become apparent that Roberta Bieling will be stepping into the primary position of moderating "RTL Aktuell" this summer, partnering with Christopher Wittich. The question of who will replace Bieling in the highly esteemed daytime program "Punkt 12," alongside Katja Burkard, has now been resolved.

In March, Peter Kloeppel and Ulrike von der Groeben revealed they would be leaving "RTL Aktuell" after close to 30 years and more than 4500 joint broadcasts. Their replacements were promptly named: Roberta Bieling and Christopher Wittich will take turns moderating RTL's signature news show. For sports coverage, Anna Fleischhauer and Andreas von Thien will contribute.

Bieling had been a frequent replacement on "RTL Aktuell" since 2023, with a higher profile as co-host of "Punkt 12" with Katja Burkard. Her transition to the main newscast would leave a void. However, RTL has since found a compelling solution.

Beginning in August, Sabrina Ilski will alternate with Burkard on the hosting duties for "Punkt 12." Additionally, Bernd Fuchs will remain part of the expanded team for the show. The 36-year-old Ilski, a native of Recklinghausen, currently resides in Cologne with her family. Since last year, she has been a mother to a young girl.

"journalism's True Champion"

Ilski has built a prolific career at RTL, Vox, and ntv, working as a journalist and author for a multitude of programs. Following her voluntary service at RTL Nord in 2011, she assumed additional roles as a moderator, chief on duty, and editorial manager.

Ilski is understandably elated about her new position. "For me, 'Punkt 12' is a staple in German television. This program has been synonymous with reliable, captivating, and entertaining reporting for years," she beamed. "I'm ecstatic to stand behind the camera alongside Katja Burkard and continue presenting amazing content."

Martin Gradl, managing director of "RTL News," commended "the most successful lunchtime magazine in Germany" as he expressed his approval for the latest development. "We're not just gaining a true champion of journalism for the moderation but also highlight once more the excellent careers that can be found within our company and how effectively 'RTL News' cultivates and nurtures its staff."

Matching Wits with Ryan Gosling?

Daniel Mundhenke, editor-in-chief of Magazine & Life at "RTL News," expressed his gratitude for "Roberta Bieling's outstanding, long-term collaboration and her commitment to 'Punkt 12.'" Concurrently, he was also overjoyed to have secured "the ideal candidate for the vacant presenter spot on 'Punkt 12' with Sabrina Ilski." Ilski embodies "a charming presenter who captivates audiences with her positive demeanor," and possesses "proven journalistic skill through her extensive work experience at RTL."

Ilski disclosed her aspirations a few years ago in an RTL interview. "I would love to ascend the Mont Blanc at least once," she said at the time. She also expressed her longing to work with Ryan Gosling in that chat. Hopefully, her second wish may become a reality with the new role.

With Ilski, Katja Burkard has a new colleague.
