People - Ryan Reynolds: I'm a "big fanboy" of Hugh Jackman
Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds expresses his admiration for his colleague and friend Hugh Jackman. "I'm a big fanboy of what Hugh has done as 'Wolverine' for over five decades, since 55, 60 years," the 47-year-old joked during a press conference in Berlin.
Reynolds and Jackman, who will soon be seen together in the new Marvel film "Deadpool & Wolverine" (release date July 24), are not only known for being good friends but also for making each other laugh.
Jackman's (55) first appearance as the Marvel character Wolverine in the first "X-Men" film was indeed already quite some time ago - but with 24 years old, it was still not as long as Reynolds claimed.
Since then, Jackman has played the character in numerous other films, the last one being in 2017. Wolverine is one of the most popular figures in the Marvel universe. "Wolverine was the foundation of my film career," Jackman said. "It's the greatest privilege for me to play him. I take it very seriously."
Reynolds added about working with Jackman: "I got a front-row seat and could see how this guy, who's my closest friend in the world, handles this thing on a level that's unparalleled."
