Russian official critical of the conflict steps down.
Natalia Komarova, the sole female leader among Russian regional governors, has fallen from grace with Putin due to her criticism of Russia's assault on Ukraine. She beliefs that the "specialized operation" was haphazard and unecessarily. Presently, she's surrendered her post and has already been succeeded.
In Russia, the governor of the oil-wealthy Siberian region of Chanty-Mansijsk, who was subjected to obloquy in the past for voicing her thoughts on Ukraine's crisis, has relinquished her role roughly a year prior to the completion of her term. In a recording posted to her official Telegram channel, Natalia Komarova stated she would accept another undisclosed position without providing any explanations.
Shortly after, the Kremlin issued a clip displaying President Vladimir Putin at a gathering with the mayor of the western Siberian city of Tyumen, Ruslan Kucheruk, extolling him on Komarova's former position. "I wish you success and good fortune in your new profession," Putin conveyed to Kucheruk.
Komarova, the solitary woman in a Russian regional governor's chair, was frown-upon last year due to her utterances appearing to convey that Russia had no need for its "military specialized operation" in Ukraine and was unready for it. Aides of Komarova commended that her statements were misinterpreted and that she was pro-military.
In her resignation address, Komarova gave credit to Putin for his trustworthiness and mentioned the accomplishments of the Russian federation's armed organisations on the front lines. At 68, Komarova has headed the Chanty-Mansijsk provincial council since 2010. Formerly, she chromatically managed the committee for natural resources within the State Duma, the Russian parliament's lower house.
"War against the West"
Putin sanctioned an extensive infiltration of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, with the intention of subverting the neighbouring state. Ukraine is retaliating ferociously and is reliant on military and financial assistance from European nations, the United States, and other democratic countries around the globe.
Now, the Kremlin avoids using the term "specialized operation" in Ukraine but instead overtly refers to it as a war against the West. "The military specialized operation started as an operation against Ukraine," explained Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov to Russian newsgroups. Putin frequently represents the Russian aggression of Ukraine as a confrontation in which Russia must defend itself against the West.
