Russian leader Putin retains trusted advisor Patrushev within the Kremlin walls.
Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, has been keeping Nikolai Patrushev, his confident, nearby. Recently, Putin appointed Patrushev as his advisor after dismissing him as Secretary of the Russian Security Council.
The citizens of Russia view Patrushev as a brain behind the country's pursuit of global power and an influential thinker behind Russia's aggression towards Ukraine. There was no clarification provided on the 72-year-old's new position.
While patronizing Patrushev, Putin decided to retain his presidential administration head, Anton Vayno, along with his first deputies, Alexei Gromov and Sergei Kiriyenko. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov is also expected to continue in his role, as per state news agency Tass. The previous Minister for Economic Development, Maxim Oreshkin, was made part of the presidential office as a deputy.
Moreover, Putin called back his former bodyguard, Alexei Djumov - who now governs the Tula region - to the Kremlin as an advisor. Analysts consider Djumov to be a potential frontrunner for high-ranking positions in the Russian administration in the future.
