Film Typ - Russell Crowe expresses a hint of jealousy over the new "Gladiator" adaptation.

In a recent podcast, Russell Crowe, the award-winning Hollywood actor known for his portrayal of Maximus in the 2000 film "Gladiator," expressed some reservations about the upcoming sequel. "I'm a bit uneasy about another 'Gladiator' movie being made," said the 60-year-old actor.

The movie, titled "Gladiator 2," is slated for release in November. It focuses on Lucius, played by Irish actor Paul Mescal ("The Darkest Light"), who is the nephew of the treacherous Commodus, portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix in the first film.

Crowe spoke candidly about his feelings, acknowledging that he's heard "some things" but can't quite understand the "moral arc" of the new film. "I'm not allowed to say anything, it's not my place," he added, chuckling about the stolen body he left behind in the original movie. "There's definitely a bit of melancholy, a tinge of jealousy. I still miss it."

The follow-up will be directed by Ridley Scott and will also star Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, and Joseph Quinn.
