Rod Stewart reveals his parenting secret

Rock legend Rod Stewart is a dad of eight and proud of each of his children. In a new interview with the luxury lifestyle magazine "Haute Living", he spoke about how happy he is that all his sons and daughters have turned out so well.

Stewart also confessed to not being particularly strict as a father compared to his own parents. Speaking to the magazine, he said: "I don't think I'm as strict with my children as my mother and father - especially my father." In his opinion, this has had a positive effect on his children's development.

"I'm very proud of them all"

"I'm very lenient with them," says Rod Stewart. "None of them have gotten into serious trouble. Some of them got involved with drugs, but that's over now. I'm very proud of them all." What he appreciates most is being able to be with his family again after a long period of traveling: He misses his family "so much" when he is on the road, said the 78-year-old. Being together with his loved ones is "a wonderful luxury" when he comes home.

Together with his former partner Susannah Boffey, Rod Stewart has his eldest daughter Sarah. He has children Kimberly and Sean with his ex-wife Alana Stewart. His relationship with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg produced daughter Ruby, while his marriage to ex-wife Rachel Hunter produced children Renee and Liam. With his current wife Penny Lancaster, he has sons Alastair and Aiden.

In the interview, Stewart also revealed that despite their strictness, his parents supported him in his dream of becoming a musician. "They were extremely cooperative with me," he recalls. His father bought him his first guitar. "I ask all parents out there who have children who want to make music to encourage them, because everyone should have that chance."

Rod Stewart often incorporates various genres of music, including rock, into his family entertainment nights at home. These sessions serve as a bonding moment for his children, providing them with an education in music history and appreciation.

To supplement his children's education, Rod Stewart occasionally arranges educational outings that incorporate elements of music and entertainment, such as visits to museums or concerts.
