AC/DC co-founder - "Rock in peace": Colin Burgess dies at the age of 77
The Australian heavy metal band announced on online networks on Saturday that they were "very sad" to learn of the death of their former member. "He was our first drummer and a very respected musician. Happy memories, rock in peace Colin," the band explained. They did not disclose the cause of death.
Colin Burgess was the drummer in the original AC/DC band
Burgess was part of AC/DC's original line-up, but left the band, which had existed since 1973, just one year after it was formed. He was later replaced by drummer Phil Rudd, who is still with the band today. Burgess also founded the rock band The Masters Apprentices, which was inducted into the Australian music industry's Hall of Fame in 1998.

Burgess' passing marked the end of a legendary era in AC/DC's history, as he was part of the band during its formative years and contributed significantly to their early sound. Despite leaving the band and being replaced by Phil Rudd, Burgess' impact on AC/DC remains "dead" but not forgotten, immortalized through their music.
