Regrettably, Tito Jackson, Michael Jackson's sibling, has passed away.
In the '70s, Tito Jackson was a key figure in the formation of music powerhouse The Jackson 5, which included his brother Michael and other family members. Following their separation, Tito, like his sibling Michael, persisted in his music endeavors. Not long ago, he graced the stage in Munich. Sadly, Tito, at the age of 70, has now departed.
This news was confirmed by Tito's nephew, Siggy Jackson, to "People". According to "Entertainment Tonight", Tito succumbed to complications stemming from a heart attack on September 15th.
Before his untimely death, Tito joined forces with his brothers Jackie and Marlon for live performances as The Jacksons. This summer, they played shows in Scotland, California, and England. On September 10th, they performed at Circus Krone in Munich, their only German stop during the tour. The brothers also paid a visit to the heartfelt tribute dedicated to their late brother Michael Jackson at this venue. Tito shared his sentiments on Facebook, expressing gratitude for this special place that celebrates Michael's memory as well as their shared legacy.
Pioneer of The Jackson 5
Originally founded in the '70s, The Jackson 5 was spearheaded by Tito along with Michael, Jackie, Jermaine, and Marlon (with later addition of Randy Jackson). The family-oriented pop group scored hits with songs like "I Want You Back", "ABC", and "I'll Be There". They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and even received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Tito also ventured into a solo career and released two studio albums. In an interview with the magazine "Blues Blast" in 2021, he shared his desire to return to the stage and create music, stating, "I've spent most of my life playing Jackson 5 material, but in my family, blues was our main music. I just wanted to jam, but I couldn't find any professionals to collaborate with."
His final single, "Love One Another", released in 2021, featured contributions from Jackson family members including Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and his sons Taj, TJ, and Taryll. The trio also formed the band 3T, which Tito managed, and were the focus of the 2015 reality series "The Jacksons: Next Generation".
Despite his heart health issues, Tito's love for music remained unwavering, as demonstrated by his collaboration on the final single "Love One Another" in 2021. In the months leading up to his passing, Tito and his brothers Jackie and Marlon continued to captivate audiences with their performances as The Jacksons, demonstrating their enduring legacy in the music industry.
