Charts - Record: Peter Schilling's "Major Tom" back in the top ten

The musician Peter Schilling continues his surprise success with the unofficial football anthem "Major Tom (Completely Lost)" - and sets a record. The song makes it back into the Top 10 for the first time since over 40 years ago, where it last stood in April 1983, according to GfK Entertainment. "No other song has managed this after such a long time," it was stated.

The German Football Association (DFB) has named the 80s hit of the 68-year-old as the goal anthem. The song was released in 1982.

However, a different song is played in the EM stadium after goals by the German national team. And that is "Fire" by Meduza, OneRepublic & Leony, the official song for the European championship.

Further football fever in the charts

At the European Football Championship, Germany plays against Spain in the quarterfinals on Friday evening. And the charts are still in football fever. On place one of the single charts, "Zeit, dass sich was dreht" by $OHO BANI, Herbert Grönemeyer & Ericson still holds the top spot. In fourth place, just like the previous week, is "Junge Baller" by 6PM Records, Ski Aggu, Haaland936 & SIRA. There is little movement in the top 5: In second and third place, like the previous week, are "Wunder" by Ayliva & Apache 207 and "I Like The Way You Kiss Me" by Artemas. New in fifth place is "Panama", a love song by German rapper GReeeN.

Four new entries have once again made it into the album charts this week. On place one, the rappers Dardan & Azet enter with "Eurosport". Place two is secured by the band Imagine Dragons with "Loom", and place three goes to the Berlin band Beatsteaks for "Please". The posthumously released album "Songwriter" by Country-Legend Johnny Cash enters at number four. Only Billie Eilish remains in fifth place with "Hit Me Hard And Soft", like in the previous week.
