Sean "Diddy" Combs - Reality TV series canceled after accusations
A planned reality show and documentary series about the family of Sean "Diddy" Combs (45) has been canceled. According to the industry magazine "Variety", the streaming service Hulu canceled the development at an early stage. According to the report, the reason for the cancellation is most likely the lawsuits filed due to alleged sexual assault. The series was being worked on under the working title "Diddy+7" and was to be produced by James Corden's (45) production company Fulwell 73.
Rapper and music producer Sean Combs is currently accused of raping a 17-year-old high school student together with two other men. This was reported by CNN, among others, citing filed court documents. The woman claimed to have been the victim of a gang rape in 2003. She was given drugs and alcohol and taken by private jet to New York, where the alleged assault took place in a studio.
She named Combs and Harve Pierre, the former president of Bad Boy Entertainment, a company founded by the rapper, as well as a third man. As a result, the woman has had to live with a "considerable emotional burden and feelings of shame" over the past 20 years. She is claiming damages in an undisclosed amount.
"I didn't do any of the terrible things"
According to US reports, three other women had previously made accusations against Combs for alleged sexual assault. In November, the rapper and his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura (37) reached an out-of-court settlement - just a day or so after the singer filed a civil lawsuit alleging abuse and rape. A lawyer for the accused Combs told the broadcaster in a statement that the settlement was "in no way an admission of wrongdoing".
"Enough is enough", it now says in a statement from Combs, which was published on Instagram and elsewhere. Over the past few weeks, he had silently watched as people tried to destroy his reputation and his legacy. "Disgusting accusations" have been made against him by people who, according to him, are only out to make a quick buck. He had "done none of the terrible things I am accused of. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth".
