Real estate company cautions against excessive heating costs.
Ista, a real estate service provider, has alerted customers about potential issues with their heating bills for the current year. Hagen Lessing, the company's boss, mentioned that the rising prices are taking longer to affect consumers. "A lot of tenants will end up paying more than they have ever paid before for heating their homes," he said on Thursday.
Ista analyzes around 800,000 bills every year and recently revealed some alarming statistics. Compared to the previous year, district heating costs increased by an average of seven percent per kilowatt hour, heating oil prices surged by 34 percent, and natural gas prices skyrocketed by 44 percent. "These aren't projections or estimates, but real numbers from actual bills," insisted Lessing.
The information discussed represents approximately 20% of all the bills Ista handles. Based on previous trends, Lessing believes that the entire year's bills will likely follow the same trend. "With the data we have so far, we can accurately predict and make calculations for the year ahead based on almost 20% of the thousands of bills we process annually," he added.

Ista's warning about rising heating bills might lead to some unpleasant surprises for many tenants, as Hagen Lessing projected that they could pay more than ever before. Despite the gradual increase in costs, the real numbers from analyzed bills indicate significant jumps in district heating costs, heating oil prices, and natural gas prices.
