"Nord Nord Mord" episode on ZDF - Ratings hit: "Sievers and the dream of flying" at "Tatort" level

A body lies on the beach in the far north of the vacation island of Sylt. It is a young Spaniard who was one of the kitesurfers who let themselves be pulled over the water by kites in the sea. When ex-professional and trainer Tom is questioned, he claims not to have known the victim. Shortly afterwards, Tom is attacked from behind in his mobile home, but manages to free himself - only to lie dead on the beach a short time later. In the 22nd episode of the crime series "Nord Nord Mord", Inspector Carl Sievers has to solve two murders at once. "Sievers and the Dream of Flying" was a ratings hit for ZDF on Monday evening. Around eight and a half million people watched the new episode, putting the crime series on a par with "Tatort" in terms of numbers. According to "DWDL", the market share among the total audience was 30.7 percent. The sequel thus follows on from the success of the previous films in January and February of this year, which were watched by nine and nine and a half million people respectively.

New "Nord Nord Mord" episode: A dubious murder and confusing emotions

In the new movie, Tom's kite student Lena is particularly shaken by the murder. She had been having an affair with Tom, wanted to run away with him and leave her partner behind. No wonder the Sylt investigators are struggling to shed light on the tangled web of this case. Hinnerk Feldmann finally wants to make his dream of flying come true and attends a surfing course with kite instructor Mats. He used to have his eye on Inspector Ina Behrendsen - which in turn makes Feldmann jealous.

Sievers is basically unable to do much more than puzzle around aloud - he is also plagued by jealousy, as he observes his beloved Tabea Krawinkel with another man, to which she reacts in an unexpectedly refreshing way.

Director Alex Schaad shows several unhappy lovers in this thriller, and it doesn't seem to end well for any of them. The solution to the case, which has been tinkered with by three scriptwriters, is sure to occur to some viewers sooner and more easily than to the team of investigators. After all, they are mainly preoccupied with their own sensitivities and for the most part behave in an astonishingly silly manner.

So we can only hope that the two detectives and their colleague will quickly get their act together and sort out their various emotional tangles. So that the next case - "Sievers and the five question marks" - can be properly investigated again. Viewers can see whether the ratings will be as outstanding again on January 8, 2024 at 8.15 p.m. on ZDF.

"Sievers und der Traum vom Fliegen" is available to stream in the ZDF media library.
