American rapper Nelly (49, "Hot in Herre") was temporarily arrested on suspicion of drug possession. According to Missouri authorities, four ecstasy tablets were found on the musician. Additionally, an open warrant from a previous traffic stop was present, as he was driving without insurance.

The rapper, whose real name is Cornell Haynes and was born in Austin (Texas), was taken to a police station in Maryland Heights in the early morning hours, as reported by "TMZ.com". The Grammy award winner was soon released.

Nelly has been married to American singer Ashanti (43, "Happy", "Foolish") since December 2023. In April, the musician announced that they are expecting their first child together. Nelly is already a father to two adult children and has also adopted two children of his sister who passed away from leukemia in 2005.

Nelly, currently residing in Los Angeles, was surrounded by the city's bustling nightlife when the incident occurred. Following his release, he returned to his home in the City of Angels.
