Before the European Championship round of 16 - Rapper Kontra K visits the DFB team

Your Hit "Success is not luck" is considered the motivation song of the German team at the European Championship, now it seems that the football stars have received a private concert from Contra K (36). According to "Bild"-Newspaper, the rapper reportedly visited the DFB-Team at the EM-Quarter in Herzogenaurach on Thursday (28. June).

Contra K performed "Success is not luck" to the team, according to the report. The artist himself shared a video on Instagram, which shows him riding a bike - apparently on the grounds in Herzogenaurach. His performance later was also reportedly heard outside the quarters, as "Bild" further reported.

Fans can see if the "little secret concert" gave the team an extra motivation boost for the EM on Saturday. Germany plays against the Danish team in Dortmund in the round of 16 at 9 pm.

Peter Maffay was also at the DFB-Team

In the past, the DFB-Team has had other musicians as guests at tournaments. According to media reports, Peter Maffay (74) visited the team before their round of 16 match against England at the European Football Championship in London in 2021. Maffay reportedly performed two songs for the German team - the big hit "Over seven bridges you must go" and a song from his "Tabaluga" series. However, it didn't help the team back then, as they lost the game and were eliminated.

Now it seems that it will go better with Contra K, who is named Maximilian Diehn in real life. The Berlin artist, who is one of the most famous rappers in Germany, released his debut album in 2010. He followed this up with numerous successful releases such as "Labyrinth" (2016), "From the light back into the shadow" (2021), and "Hope steals from no one" from November 2023.

  1. The buzz surrounding Contra K's motivational performance of "Success is not luck" at the DFB team's private concert before the European Championship round of 16 has certainly brought happiness to the artists involved.
  2. The DFB team, known for their love of music, has once again welcomed a musician into their midst, this time it's Contra K, who joined them in Herzogenaurach before the competition.
  3. Apart from Contra K, renowned singer-songwriter Peter Maffay also graced the DFB team with his presence and performances in the past, such as at the European Football Championship in London in 2021.
  4. This time around, Contra K, also known as Maximilian Diehn, might be the lucky charm the team needs, as they prepare to face the Danish team in Dortmund during the round of 16 at 9 pm.
  5. Contra K's fame in the German music scene is undeniable, having released critically acclaimed albums like "Labyrinth" (2016), "From the light back into the shadow" (2021), and the eagerly-anticipated "Hope steals from no one" scheduled for November 2023.
  6. Interestingly, the DFB team's unusual tradition of inviting musicians for pre-tournament motivation seems to have had mixed results in the past, with Peter Maffay's performance in 2021 not yielding the desired outcome, but maybe Contra K will buck that trend.
