The saga surrounding Ralf and Cora Schumacher in the limelight yet unresolved. The issue persists to haunt the ex-Formula 1 driver, even at the racing track. Here, their son David openly discusses the parental discord and his perspective on it.

Ralf Schumacher enjoyed a victorious weekend in sports. The retired Formula 1 and DTM racer, who last competed officially in 2012, bagged two victories alongside his son David in the Prototype Cup Germany. The father-son duo ruled the track at the Nurburgring on both Saturday and Sunday. "We had our game plan in place. The car's speed was consistent under all conditions, which we managed well," said the 49-year-old. David added, "Today was mostly about me leading the charge." Whether they'll return for more races post this comeback remains uncertain.

The sporting triumph were marred by private strife within the Schumacher family. Following his public declaration, Ralf has been engaged in a public spat with his ex-wife Cora. Their disagreement, however, did not affect their performance on the track, according to their statements: "Not at all for me, no," said Ralf in response to RTL's question. "And for me, I don't even think about it. Once the visor is down or the door is shut, it's just about driving," added David.

In an interview with RTL, Ralf expressed regret over Cora bringing up the subject at such an inopportune time: "There seems to be a pattern, where this happens either at weekends when David races or when we're together. I think it's unfortunate. There's no need for that. I also wanted to clarify that to Étienne." Étienne is Ralf's new partner.

Schumacher revealed that Cora knew Étienne and that they were even friends. "And Cora had posted 'Welcome' over a year ago. So I don't understand it sometimes, but it's unfortunate, I have to live with it."

Cora's agony of a "sudden jab"

In an interview with "Der Spiegel" a few days ago, Cora Schumacher admitted she was unaware of her ex-husband's coming out announcement last month. "I wish Ralf had informed me or at least consulted me. It would have shown some consideration. Instead, I found out from the media," she told the magazine.

After Cora's interview, Ralf shared his perspective on the matter on Instagram on Friday: "Amidst all this debate, I'd like to clarify that Cora congratulated us in September 2023, assuming we got married." She was also happy about it. He chose not to comment on her criticism about not informing her firsthand.

He concluded his post with the words: "We both just want to be left alone." In "Der Spiegel," Cora expressed her sadness. "It was hurtful that Ralf didn't inform me before his coming out," said the 47-year-old.

When asked about his response on Instagram, Ralf said today in conversation with RTL: "Why I spoke up? Well, I believe it's essential to stick to the truth. And everyone in the circle was aware of it. In this case, I made it clear last year around Easter, so I'm surprised."

Despite the ongoing public disagreements between Ralf and Cora Schumacher, their love and concern for their family remain unwavering. In a heartfelt moment, Ralf mentioned his regret for not discussing his relationship status with Cora prior to its public disclosure, expressing that he valued her consideration and understanding in their 'love life'.
