Raid on suspected right-wing extremists in three federal states

Due to violence - Raid on suspected right-wing extremists in three federal states

Members of the youth organization of the far-right extremist small party "Der III. Way" are suspected of committing violence in Berlin. In Berlin, Brandenburg, and Saxony, ten apartments were searched on Thursday, according to the Berlin Police and Prosecutor's Office. There are a total of nine suspects aged between 17 and 21.

They are suspected of attacking several people at Berlin S-Bahnhof Ostkreuz in July. When the Federal Police intervened, the suspects reportedly attacked the officers as well. Both the initially attacked individuals and the police officers were injured and some of them had to be hospitalized, it was stated.

Weapons and Propaganda Material Seized

The alleged perpetrators were initially unknown and managed to escape. However, they were identified through investigations by the Federal Police and State Protection. They are also accused of involvement in a robbery in January. During this incident, they allegedly attacked a 20-year-old for political reasons and stole his property.

The suspects were reportedly encountered during the raid on Thursday, according to investigators. Among other things, mobile phones, clothing worn during the crime, dangerous objects such as stun guns, hammer-like tools, electric shockers, and propaganda material were seized.

The suspicion is of joint robbery, serious breach of peace, and assault on public officials. The suspects were reportedly released after the completion of police measures.

The State Protection of the State Criminal Police Office and the Prosecutor's Office continued to investigate, and the seized items would be evaluated. A total of 130 law enforcement officers from the Police were involved in the searches in the three federal states.

  1. The right-wing extremist group "Der III. Way" is associated with the suspected perpetrators, as they belong to its youth organization.
  2. The raids conducted by the police and the Federal Police in Berlin, Brandenburg, and Saxony were in response to the allegations against these individuals.
  3. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Berlin will evaluate the seized propaganda material to gauge the extent of the group's right-wing extremist activities.
  4. After the completion of police measures, the right-wing extremists were released, but they remain under investigation by the State Criminal Police Office and the Prosecutor's Office.
