Raid on left-wing women's group in Berlin

170 police officers search apartments, an office and a café in Berlin this morning. They are taking action against a left-wing women's group that calls for the liberation of Palestine on social media and calls for resistance. According to the police, the members support an organization that also cooperates with Hamas.

Berlin police have raided a left-wing feminist women's group that supports a Palestinian terrorist organization. Six apartments and two other rooms belonging to members of the group "Zora" were searched this morning, according to a police spokesperson.

The members of "Zora" are said to be promoting the radical left-wing "Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine" (PFLP), which is classified as a terrorist organization. They are accused of using the symbols of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations, as allegedly happened on Instagram. According to "B.Z.", the message reads: "No liberation of women without the liberation of Palestine". It is important to "strengthen the progressive forces, such as the PFLP, which are also part of the Palestinian resistance!"

The group "Zora" describes itself in an internet channel as a "young women's organization" that is "anti-capitalist, internationalist, anti-fascist". The PFLP has been classified as a terrorist organization by the EU since 2002. According to "B.Z.", it cooperates with Hamas and Hezbollah, denies Israel's right to exist and openly calls for armed struggle against Israel. The Berlin Office for the Protection of the Constitution estimates that the PFLP has a potential membership of around 50 people.

Six apartments, a café in Neukölln and an office in the districts of Friedrichshain, Karlshorst, Wedding, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg and Wedding were searched. Since the early morning, 170 police officers are said to have been deployed in Berlin.

The police union (GdP) spoke of a "proximity between anti-Semites and left-wing radicals". Spokesman Benjamin Jendro explained according to "B.Z.": "It is no secret that there are different opinions on Palestine and also sympathies for Hamas in the left-wing extremist spectrum. There can be no room for this in our democracy."

The raid on the left-wing women's group in Berlin, labeled as "Zora," was in response to their support of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a terrorist organization. The Palestinians are often mentioned in their social media posts, advocating for their liberation.

Despite being accused of promoting left-wing extremism and using symbols of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations, the group's mission statement includes anti-capitalist, internationalist, and anti-fascist sentiments.

The Berlin police's operation, involving 170 officers, targeted six apartments and a café, as well as an office, in various districts. This action was seen as necessary to curb the growing influence of extremist ideas, particularly those supporting Palestinians and their alleged allies like Hamas and Hezbollah.
