Queens of the Stone Age cancel concerts
Queens of the Stone Age have canceled their concert at the Citadel in Berlin due to frontman Josh Homme's need for an urgent surgery and his immediate return to the USA, as the US rock band announced on Instagram. The precise reason for the surgery was not mentioned in the post. Additionally, all other shows on the current tour have been canceled.
The band had already performed several gigs in Europe and had to cancel a show in Venice "for health reasons." They had made every effort to prevent a complete tour cancellation, but the circumstances now leave no other option, according to the text on Instagram.
Fans send well wishes
Initially, fans reacted angrily to the first cancellation, but concerned comments now outweigh them. Under the post, numerous well wishes from followers for Homme are gathering. Homme had explained in an interview in June that he felt good after a cancer operation in 2022. He was ready to continue and felt good for the first time in a long while. However, he kept the specific type of cancer to himself.
Josh Homme founded Queens of the Stone Age in the mid-1990s after his tenure as a guitarist in the stoner-rock band Kyuss. Besides his main band, he frequently collaborates on various other projects, including with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl in the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures and at the Desert Sessions, known for experimental sounds.
The band released their eighth studio album "In Times New Roman ..." in the previous year. Since their formation in 1996, they have been renowned for their energetic live performances. Homme's fans now hope that their idol recovers quickly and the planned concerts can be rescheduled.
Despite the cancellation of their remaining shows due to Josh Homme's health issues, fans continue to express their support through heartfelt messages on Instagram. In between tour dates, Homme often showcases his love for rock music, frequently sharing snippets of his musical endeavors on the platform.
