- Qualifying for the 2028 Olympics?

After the Olympics, before the Olympics. That's the thought process of none other than rapper and music producer Dr. Dre (59), who is already training for the 2028 Summer Olympics, which will take place in his city: Los Angeles. The American announced in a video interview that he intends to participate.

"It's my damn serious", says the rap icon ("Nuthin' But a G Thang") in a conversation with Nischelle Turner (49) from "Entertainment Tonight". After the Olympic Games in Paris, which featured performances by Dr. Dre with colleague Snoop Dogg (52), Billie Eilish (22), and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the musician wants to do more than just stand behind the microphone this time. "I'm trying to compete in the Olympic Games in 2028", Dr. Dre announced.

Dr. Dre's surprising desired discipline

Does he want to compete in breakdancing/breaking, which would fit his musical passion? No. His answer is surprising. "Archery", says the 59-year-old, and emphasizes: "I mean it. Yes."

Then, Dre reveals that he has been an archer for decades and was part of a team in junior high school. Although he lost interest for some time, he has started shooting again with great joy thanks to his son, who gave him new equipment. The rapper has set up a target in the garden of his residence and is training diligently. Whether Dr. Dre is serious about this and will actually participate remains to be seen.

Dr. Dre expresses his excitement about training for the archery events in the 2028 Summer Olympics, which will be held in his hometown of Los Angeles. Despite his previous passion for music and breakdancing, the rapper has rekindled his interest in archery and has even set up a target in his garden for practice.

Ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, Dr. Dre continues his archery training, showcasing his dedication to competing in this unexpected discipline, having been part of a team in junior high school and recently rediscovering his love for the sport.
