Stephanie Petersen - Purchase price 19.5 million euros: TV vet sells her luxury property on Sylt

Stephanie Petersen is an institution on Sylt. She has been running a veterinary practice in Wenningstedt-Braderup for over 20 years and is passionate about looking after the four-legged friends on the North Sea island. She also appears in TV shows such as "Die Tier-Docs" (Sat. 1) and "Die Tierärzte - Retter mit Herz" (ARD). Together with her partner and two sons, Petersen lives on Gut Söl'ring, which was built in 2013. Not only is her home and veterinary practice located there, but also one of the most famous Trakehner stud farms in Germany. Petersen and her partner breed the noble horse breed. Gut Söl'ring is now up for sale.

The real estate company Sotheby's International Realty is offering the luxurious property near the sea for sale on its website. The purchase price is 19.5 million euros. However, the future owner will also get a lot in return.

Plenty of space for people and horses

The house has an area of 400 square meters, 13 rooms and eight bathrooms. In addition to the 14,700 square meter property, there is an agricultural area of around 15 hectares. The heart of the estate is the 870 square meter equestrian facility. There are stables, lunging areas and a boarding stable with twelve boxes that can be rented out externally.

There is also a granny annexe and a vacation apartment on the property, as well as the veterinary practice. Whether Stephanie Petersen will have to vacate the premises after the sale is currently "up in the air", the doctor told the online portal "shz.de". "Nothing will definitely change this year or next year. A property like this doesn't sell overnight," said the 52-year-old.

She wants to continue working as a vet on the island. She just needs to "put the brakes on a bit after 23 years of everyday practice (...), tough seasonal work including emergency services at weekends and on public holidays" and raising her two children and "make time to relax". In future, Petersen wants to commute between Sylt and Münsterland, where she and her husband have a second home.

Stephanie Petersen was a flight attendant before becoming a vet

Even as a child, Stephanie Petersen dreamed of becoming a vet. She initially earned her money as a flight attendant, but the job didn't fulfill her. So she studied veterinary medicine in Leipzig and then worked in a small animal practice in Berlin. She finally moved to Sylt for love and opened her practice in 2001. Celebrities such as soccer coach Jürgen Klopp and designer Guido Mario Kretschmer occasionally come to Petersen with their four-legged friends.

Besides Petersen's practice, there are only two others on Sylt. For this reason alone, the doctor does not want to move permanently. "I will continue to be there for the island and the animals. Being a vet isn't just a profession for me, it's my passion. If you like doing something, you're always on fire. I have a responsibility on the island," she told the Bild newspaper.
